Clearhead (now a part of Accenture Interactive as their leader in providing data-driven experience design services to amazing clients) 3rd Fastest Growing Small Company in Central Texas and second consecutive year awarded "Best Places to Work in Austin" in 2017 is looking for a Junior Front End Engineer to compliment our whip-smart engineering team.

We are looking for a Front End Engineer with less than 2 years of experience in front end web development who is excited to be part of a very collaborative, cross-functional team and work with our clients to deliver high quality A/B testing solutions.

As a Junior Front End Engineer at Clearhead, you will develop A/B test variation code for Clearhead’s clients, using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You will work closely with experienced engineers to build expertise in using A/B testing and analytics tools like Optimizely, Maxymiser, Adobe Target, Google Analytics, and more, to test new front end user experiences and validate their performance with data. You will report to a technical Engineering Manager who will be responsible for managing delivery of tests and providing onboarding, training and career development for you.

The end goal for this role is to create high quality A/B tests that provide Clearhead’s awesome Fortune 500 Clients with real data and actionable insights, so that they may make revenue impacting decisions based on the validated learnings derived from your work.

Your Day
  • You will be responsible for delivering A/B tests (75%), and contributing to the iterative improvement of our practice and building your skills (25%). Your day-to-day will include…
  • Developing high-quality A/B and MVT tests using custom HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Collaborating with Clearhead’s Engagement, UX Design and Measurement & Analytics teams to validate our tests by…
  • Leveraging tagging and analytics software solutions (e.g. Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics) to capture test data.
  • Analyzing and deriving insights from test data to develop recommendations and clearly present results to clients.
  • Developing strong client relationships with our clients’ development and product teams to achieve a ‘trusted developer’ status, so that they always feel comfortable letting you hack their products.
  • Helping the team to identify and implement improvements to the development and quality assurance processes that will make the Clearhead engineering team the best combination of agile, efficient, and bug free as possible.

  • Are methodical in your approach to writing, testing, and designing code.
  • Have a rock solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Are comfortable writing vanilla JavaScript and have a good knowledge of the JavaScript ecosystem.
  • Are comfortable with jQuery.
  • Have familiarity with NodeJS, particularly with using CommonJS modules and task runners such as Gulp to build internal build tools.
  • Have experience with front end JS frameworks, such as Angular and React.
  • Write clean, well documented code.
  • Can confidently explain your work to and collaborate with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Are able to effectively accomplish goals while working in a team-based, open-office environment.
Bonus You
  • Can write fluent ES6.
  • Have prior experience writing A/B tests or third-party JavaScript.
  • Have prior experience working in a client-facing role.
  • Have prior experience leverage analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc. to perform data capture.
