Self-driven, self-taught developer
I am a passionate, self driven, and self taught developer. I currently specialize in Java and Android applications. Despite those being my main skill sets, I enjoy learning new things, and have dabbled in a lot of different technologies and languages. I find it fun to experiment, even if the experiment is outrageously crazy. To give a prime example, I thought it would be fun to build a web crawler to see how far it could go (it indexed about 50 million sites before something broke it!). I have some experience in C++, C#, Lua, JavaScript, and HTML.
I started programming over two years ago after a friend asked me to help him build a game in Java. The game was never completed, but I had a sudden interest for learning more and more about Java and computers. I have been self-teaching ever since. From low level x86 Assembly, all the way to high level Ruby, I have tried to dabble in all of it. I mainly specialize in Java and Android applications, however.
Since then, I have completed an Android Developer Nanodegree (which is offered by Udacity), published several applications to the Google Play Store, and started a small application development business with a couple of friends.
I consider programming an extension of myself. It is a unique way to tackle and break down problems that has changed my life forever. I thoroughly enjoy breaking down the problem that is trying to be solved, forging a solution, and iterating over that solution to create better versions of it over time. It also helps that I really enjoy learning about computers, as I have been using them a lot since I was 10. I have always enjoyed creating things on the computer, and programming is just another way to create something amazing.
