I'm a reformed academic who discovered a passion for software development while in graduate school. I made the bold choice to strike out on a completely different career trajectory and have not looked back. When not coding, I'm creating artistic or literary works for my friends and family.

I had dabbled in HTML and CSS for several years prior to discovering Codecademy as a means to learn the basic JavaScript required for some of the software I was using in my graduate program. I fell in love! From there, I decided to formalize my education by attending The Iron Yard in St. Petersburg, FL. I completed their Ruby on Rails engineering course in July 2015.

I actually enjoy breaking my code, so that I can have the experience of tracing the problem and fixing it. I've always enjoyed taking things apart to see how they work, and by breaking my own code, I get that same joy.
