Project Places of Power - github.com/fabricio-sousa/places-of-power
- A showcase of my Full Stack Web Development education. Consists of a RESTful web app with a backend developed with Python and the Flask framework, SQLAlchemy, along with third-party Google OAuth authentication and a PostgreSQL database and deployed to an Amazon Lightsail Ubuntu Linux instance running Apache. Users can login and perform CRUD operations.
- Data is served to the frontend, which renders those places as markers on the World Google Map. The frontend features KnockoutJS, JQuery, HTML5 and CSS. Markers on the Google Map feature infowindows with content served by the backend. Additional content might will added via 3rd party API integration.

Log Analysis - github.com/fabricio-sousa/log-analysis
- Developed a log analysis app using Python's built-in libraries and PostgreSQL to summarize data from a large database. It connected to a web server backend using Virtual Box running Ubuntu and Vagrant.
Through Udacity I completed two Nanodegree programs, including a Full Stack Web Developer Nanodegree, and honed my Python development, SQL database creation, and backend development skills.
I love the procedural and object-oriented aspects of programming in Python (and any OOP language). It provides a clear path to achieve the desired result, from conception, planning, coding, debugging, and testing. Programming lets me be creative and produce useful apps and content to both myself and users. And ultimately, it is an engaging and challenging field that keeps my mind sharp and active.
