In my previous career as an audiovisual systems engineer, I used systems-level thinking and broke down large problems into small, manageable pieces.

I come with a toolkit of other skills such as technical project management, IT systems administration, and proposal writing.

I've been interested in programming my entire life (I tried to learn Assembler when I was in second grade).

Working with the audiovisual control systems programmers at my previous employer spurred me to enroll in The Firehose Project, a 22-week coding bootcamp.

Using Ruby, I learned about data structures, algorithms, and worked through traditional CS challenges such as the Collatz sequence and tree traversal.

I love solving big problems by approaching them in small, solvable steps. I also enjoy looking at other people's code and deciphering what it does.

To me, programming is an art that solves real-world problems.
