I am someone who went into the working world not considering if I would appreciate what I do every day, until I saw what I really wanted to do. I want to work with and learn from other programmers (and hopefully have them learn from me) on projects that bring usefulness to the people that use them.
After deciding to revisit my childhood hobby of working with computers, I began using free online resources like free Code Camp, Solo learn, and Youtube to see if it was something that still interested me. Learning how to create the simplest projects actually gave me a lot of excitement, so I decided to get serious and attend a coding bootcamp. I ended up spending 90+ hours a week on my own accord, commuting for close to 3 hours a day immersing myself everything I could learn. Since completing the bootcamp I wanted to keep learning, so I again used free resources to learn React, and most recently Java (though this is something I'm just now starting to learn). I try to get out to as many meetups as I can so I can discover people on similar paths.
Programming always provides me with something new to learn, and allows me to create or recreate the most some of the most intriguing technological projects. For example, when we first learned how to write our first Pacman game, it opened up a different door in my brain. Especially in today's society, where we interact with programmed tech constantly, we take for granted how these seemingly simple UI's have had their code painstakingly refactored and debugged to provide such a clean experience. On that note I'd say programming has been extremely frustrating and equally as rewarding for me at times, but I love that i'm constantly motivated to continue learning so that I can create, and find out how others create the amazing tech we see everyday.
