Along with my colleagues, I was responsible for the full stack development of an web application build for managing EMEPA's data. The back-end was built using Java, JPA and a Postgres database. The front-end was built using the JSF framework with Primefaces. HTML5 and CSS3 were used to mold the application's pages and jQuery/JavaScript scripts were made to aide with the user's experience and web pages behaviour.

I was also responsible for some of the application's demonstrations for the client and requirement analysis.

This magazine was running with a wordpress blogging plataform. I was responsible for the system installation, server management, theme and plug in installation and theme adaptation.

Other than that, I was one of the two team managers who were in charge of coordinate a group of 18 contributors placed in 10 different Brazilians cities. Posts reviews and schedule were some of the main activities I did as a team manager.

I also had the opportunity to contribute writing some posts about technology and life abroad.

During my year studying abroad, I had the opportunity to work at Amadeus as a Software Engineer intern. My duty was to build an web application to ease the access to open data information related to travel and leisure.

The Travel Search Engine was born. Built with Django ( a Python MVC framework ), Neo4J as the NoSQL database for storing the data, PostGis in a Postgres database to store the Geographic information related to the Points Of Interest. Lucene and Solr were used for querying the database and retrieving the information asked by the user. The user could query the information through a simple web interface built with HTML, CSS and JavaScript/jQuery or through a REST interface. The code is open source.

During my Master’s degree research I studied millions of users from the StackExchange sites. StackExchange is a platform which holds more than 100 question and answer websites addressing the most variate subjects, but it’s known for it’s STEM related communities, specially StackOverflow.

The purpose of this research was to infer if there was difference in behavior between men and women on these communities, as the proportion of women participating on these were very low, specially on those related to STEM. To address this issue I used a big data repository from StackExchange and with the help of document oriented, NoSQL database (MongoDB) and Python's scientific libraries.

We found out that, for most users and communities, gender does not predicts or interfere on the user’s behavior, quality of posts, amount of contribution and engagement. The very few differences we found could most be explained by the literature and some were very intriguing.
