GDIT is seeking a Jr. Software Developer to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA's) National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) in Asheville, NC, Maryland or Mississppi.
This position is for a member of a scrum agile software development team supporting the Data Access Branch’s Data Access Development Team. As a Jr. Software Developer, you will work with a small team of software developers responsible for all phases of development from requirements gathering and analysis to implementation using Agile methodologies. The team is responsible for the consolidation of multiple web applications into a single interface focused on providing access to environmental data through simple web interfaces, as well as writing unit tests and documentation. Development work is done primarily using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Typescript, Angular, and Elasticsearch using a microservice architecture.
Working in a team requires strong communication and interpersonal skills. Candidate must be comfortable working side-by-side with their colleagues in highly collaborative environment. Additionally, self-learning is expected in order to find innovative solutions to complex problems.
